Faculty of Economics and Management (University of Bialystok, Poland) is interested in cooperation at ESPON calls for proposals on applied research projects. Particularly on the SURE Success for Convergence Regions’ Economies project.

We would like to participate in spheres as follows:
-    Economic & social development of peripheral regions
-    Innovation and Technology Transfer in low-developed regions
-    Technological convergence in low-developed regions
-    Sustainable development of regions.

Our researchers have skills and opportunities in above. They have experience in:

 - co-operation with enterprises, institutions and authorities.

A team of researchers from the Department of Research on Globalization  Processes, in the Institute of Regional and Global Studies of Warsaw University Faculty of Geography and Regional Studies, Poland is looking for  a partnership within ESPON 2013 program under Priority 2 in the theme
“Success for Convergence Regions’ Economies (SURE)”

As a partner we offer:

 - broad knowledge concerning Poland and its regions in social, economical, environmental and spatial aspects, including Podlaskie region;
 - high experience in social and economical methodologies, e.g. interviewing, social surveys, economic indicators analysis;
 - access to wide selection of our team's research studies on urban regions, peripheral areas, quality of life, man-environment relations and impact of globalisation on regions;
 - communication not only in Polish and English - members of our team speak Spanish, Italian, German and other languages, too;
 - participation of ESPON 2013 KSS expert as a member of our team.

We would like to support a leader of a project and gain new experience for our young and ambitious team.

The Institute of Urban Development (IUD) located in Cracow is a scientific and research institute. Its legacy contains a rich tradition and achievements in the areas of research and practical application of research results obtained in spatial planning, land management, environment shaping and protection, municipal and housing economies, building and real-estate management.


The Institute's personnel is composed of 79 persons constituting an interdisciplinary team of research and technical staff representing the following areas: urban planning, spatial planning, architecture, geography, law, economy, biology, civil engineering, hydro-engineering, sanitary engineering, mechanics, electrical engineering, land reclamation, chemistry, transportation, computer science, organisation and management, geology and forestry.

Marshal Office of Lower Silesia, Poland is looking for potential partners among regional policy makers and practitioners to form a group of regions for the call for interest under Priority 2. Marshal Office of Lower Silesia shall be a Leading Stakeholder in the project.

Lead Applicant: Marshal Office of Lower Silesia, Poland

Priority 2: Targeted analysis based on user demand: European perspective to development of different types of territories

Research field: institutional capacity in relation to regional development and territorial cooperation

Main objective: to analyze the potential of the indicated regions and territories for the good use of the European territorial cooperation programmes in order to make the regional policy more efficient by promoting balanced partnerships and targeted and strategy-based projects in the framework of the Objective 3.

Possible partners: 2 types of regions: those with relatively developed partnerships and cooperation and those, which are developing in this aspect.
